Compare the actual Kaplan package

Kaplan’s checked Level I 2027 page lists Essential at US$549, EssentialPlus at US$749 and Premium from US$1,049 before a displayed promotion. Essential includes printed and digital books, study tools and practice exams. EssentialPlus adds an OnDemand review workshop; Premium adds OnDemand classes and broader review materials. These are Level I package observations, not Level II quotes.

The main choice is whether you need a packaged reading and instruction sequence or a subscription workflow you can try and continue over time. MiloPrep’s current plans combine learning materials and practice. Inspect the actual feature list and sample experience rather than assuming a subscription and a provider package contain identical content.

Compare costs over the same preparation period

A package price and a monthly charge are not directly comparable until you specify how long you need access. The table calculates continuous MiloPrep subscription charges at current list prices, excluding taxes and other purchases. It assumes one billing cadence throughout. Kaplan’s quoted package amount is shown separately because its access terms and inclusions differ.

For three months, monthly billing totals $147 and one quarterly payment is $99. For six months, the corresponding totals are $294 and $198. A lower total does not establish equal content, more effective teaching or a higher pass rate. Include any print, instruction or review features you would otherwise buy separately.

Test the learning workflow you will actually use

If your main difficulty is following a consistent reading sequence, examine how the Kaplan package organizes notes, classes and review. If your main difficulty is turning a known method into reliable attempts, inspect how practice, explanations and review work in the subscription. These are fit questions, not conclusions from a hands-on benchmark of every paid product.

Use one topic as the test. Attempt a valuation or fund-performance question, read the explanation and solve a changed-input version without it. Ask whether the resource explains method selection and the closest plausible error. A large question count is less informative if the explanations do not address the mistakes you make.

Try it before reading the answer

You keep using commitment instead of paid-in capital in a fund multiple. What should you look for in a sample explanation?

Show worked answer

It should label the denominator, explain why unfunded commitment is excluded from the stated multiple, and show a changed example. Merely displaying the correct letter or arithmetic does not resolve the conceptual error.

Read PassProtection as a conditional study-access policy

Kaplan’s published PassProtection applies to qualifying Essential, EssentialPlus and Premium purchasers who register for a same-level retake after failure or have an approved CAIA deferral. The policy describes access to the next sitting’s online materials, including relevant curriculum updates, with separate terms for printed materials and upgrades.

The checked policy permits redemption within 36 months of the initial purchase and requires proof of registration through customer service. Read the complete conditions for your purchase. This protection concerns study materials; it does not pay or replace CAIA exam registration, guarantee a pass or remove the need to book an appointment.

Choose from the feature you would otherwise be missing

Kaplan merits closer inspection when a packaged notes, class or workshop sequence is the function you need. MiloPrep merits inspection when you want ongoing online learning and practice with subscription billing. If you already have the official curriculum and an effective study routine, identify the specific gap before buying a larger bundle.

This is MiloPrep’s own comparison, based on public provider documentation and its configured product plans. We have not independently measured comparative pass rates, question difficulty or learning outcomes. Start with the available samples, verify the exam year and access term, and use the official CAIA curriculum to control scope.
