How the accounting equation fits together

A balance sheet shows a business’s financial position at a point in time. Assets are its resources, liabilities are its obligations, and equity is the owners’ remaining interest after liabilities are deducted.

Assets = Liabilities + Equity

For example, $90,000 in assets and $35,000 in liabilities leave $55,000 in equity.

Check your understanding

A business has $120,000 in assets and $45,000 in liabilities. How much equity does it have?

Understanding the answer

When I get a question wrong, I want to understand why. Working through each answer choice helps me spot the detail I missed and approach the next question more carefully.

Studying around work

Most of my studying happens after work. I can start with a short lesson, try a few questions, and pick up where I left off the next evening.

Another way to learn

If a topic is not clicking when I read it, I turn to the video lesson. Hearing the steps explained gives me another way to understand the concept before practicing.

Making time for review

Flashcards make short breaks useful. I try to answer before flipping the card, then check the explanation. It is a simple way to keep earlier topics fresh.

Knowing what to revisit

The result breakdown helps me choose what to study next. Instead of starting another random session, I can return to the topics where I am still making mistakes.

Keeping everything together

I like moving from a lesson to flashcards and then into practice without piecing together a study session from different places. It makes getting started feel much simpler.

CPA FAQ

How many CPA Exam sections do I have to pass?
Four: the three Core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) and one Discipline (BAR, ISC, or TCP). You choose the Discipline; you do not sit all three Disciplines.
How long is each CPA Exam section?
Each section is a four-hour appointment. Question counts and MCQ/TBS splits differ by section; see each section guide for format details and AICPA blueprint references.
What is the difference between Core and Discipline?
Core sections are required for every candidate. A Discipline is an elective deep dive - BAR builds from FAR, ISC from AUD, and TCP from REG.
Does MiloPrep cover every CPA section?
Yes. The all-access subscription includes practice for AUD, FAR, REG, BAR, ISC, and TCP under one plan.
Where do these section facts come from?
Question counts, scoring weights, and content-area ranges are taken from the AICPA CPA Exam Blueprints. Each section guide includes links to its official references.
