How to apply and payApply in CCMS, wait for approval, then register and pay for each part.

Before you apply

For the degree-based route, submit proof of your degree and a valid government-issued photo ID. Certification requires one year of qualifying experience with a master’s degree, or two with a bachelor’s degree. You can take the exams before completing that experience, but must finish the program requirements within three years of acceptance. Active IAP holders and Challenge Exam applicants have different entry rules.

The application fee covers your CIA program application; each exam part has a separate registration fee. In countries using direct IIA payment, both are paid to The IIA in CCMS.

  1. Create your CCMS account and choose CIA

Have your government-issued photo ID and the education documents for your entry route ready. If claiming member prices, confirm that your active IIA membership appears in your account before checkout.

  2. Pay the application fee and submit your documents

Complete the application checklist within 90 days of payment. Wait for The IIA to approve your application and required documents before registering for an exam part.

  3. Register and pay for a specific part

In CCMS, open Manage My Program, select the part under TEST, and choose Register. Complete checkout and retain the order confirmation. This authorizes an exam attempt; you still need to book its appointment.

If CCMS directs you to a National Institute, use that institute’s payment process and prices. Choose your country in The IIA’s directory and contact its certification team before purchasing. Find your IIA National Institute.

How to book your examCCMS → Pearson VUE → choose a center and available appointment.

Year-round testing means there is no single global exam day. Your choices depend on open seats and operating days at nearby Pearson VUE centers. The IIA requires paid exam registration before you can see bookable dates.

  1. Check your authorization expiry in CCMS

You must take the exam within 180 days of registration, or before your program expires if that is sooner. Choose a date within that limit.

  2. Open the live appointment calendar

Select Access Pearson VUE in CCMS, then your authorized exam. Choose your exam language and search for centers by city or postal code. Compare the available dates and times at those centers.

  3. Confirm the appointment

Finish the booking flow and save the confirmation. Check the part, language, center address, date, and time. Paying the exam fee alone does not reserve a seat.

Open The IIA CCMS

If no suitable appointment appears, try another nearby center or date before your authorization expires. Use Pearson VUE’s IIA support for booking problems. For mainland China, use the separate window and booking instructions in Official websites & sources below. Pearson VUE: IIA test centers and support.

Where to find your resultsCCMS → Pearson VUE → View Score Reports.

The IIA releases one official result within three weeks of your exam date and emails you when it is ready. There is no immediate preliminary score at the center.

  1. Return to the account used to register

Sign in to CCMS and select Access Pearson VUE.

  2. Open your score report

In Pearson VUE, select View Score Reports and open the report for the part and attempt you took. Save a copy for your records.

Go to CCMS to access your results

If three weeks have passed and the report is missing, check your account email and spam folder, then use Help in CCMS to open a case with The IIA. Include the exam part, test date, and appointment details. The IIA CCMS instructions.
